the time has come

for me to open my etsy shop. through hours of crocheting and sewing projects, i've accumulated enough pieces to to take over a closet. to open up room for more projects, i must find homes for the older ones. i've posted just a few items so far, but there is much more to come...

time

I wish I had more time. There are so many things I wanna do and learn. One is painting. Here's an old one I did (and the image I modeled it after, not traced) of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard (aka ODB) called Ode to ODB. Yes I know I still need some practice.

its friday

the soggy weather has given way to shine, for the moment, so i dressed accordingly…
this is my favorite dress. it has magenta AND yellow on it, and a tribal pattern in between. its like a cosby sweater birthed a dress. thank you H&M.
i have a mountain of projects I want to tackle, including work on this coat:
i sketched it out the other day. simple, black and gray. i was inspired by a coat i saw katie holmes wearing which I cant find a photo of anywhere, but it kinda looked like these three combined (Stella McCartney, Mathew Williamson and Chris Benz):
i also feel influenced by the work of southern california photographer whose work i LOVE, john divola. maybe it’s a strech, but the obvious grayscale, but the simplicity of lines and shapes…?
rain or shine, the weekend should be grrrrreat. i have a nada surf show to go, so cool, an acoustic set at the cafe du nord; and super bowl sunday to celebrate with family and lots of onion dip...
